1. Postponement due to permanent residence abroad- Greeks who live permanently abroad may receive a postponement of the military duties until the age of 45 years old, if they have:
a) Continuous residence of at least 11 years abroad or
b) Continuous residence of 7 years with parallel professional activity.
2. Postponement due to studies –
It is granted to those studying in state educational institutions abroad, with a maximum age limit of 28 years old.
3. Definitive exemption from military obligations
It is provided in case of:
a) Dual citizenship (if military service has already been completed in another country) or
b) Severe health issues
4. Military service of reduced duration for family members with three or more children
5. Handling of pending cases for those who
a) have avoided military duties and
b) wish to return to Greece- In this case, the fine of disobedience is €6,000
