Welcome to SIFA – the fast way to the Swedish language SIFA offers a different way to study Swedish compared to other schools. You study with the same class from start to finish – for a calm and stable learning environment:

 

Programmes

1. Intensive Swedish – distance learning

A high-quality distance learning programme where you are in regular contact with a qualified teacher and involved in group work with fellow students.

Our distance courses include instructions, films, exercises and a lot of interaction and communication. You will be in regular dialog with our experienced teachers, who create individual arrangements for each student to learn within the digital environment. During distance learning, you will take part in lessons, supervision and group work online every week. You will also be able to decide where and when you want to study, for most of part of your studies. During SFI and basic courses, you are able to schedule your teaching session to take place during daytime or in the evening. The flexibility of the programme will allow you to combine your Swedish studies with work, other education, or family life. Brief description of the programme You will start the programme with SFICT/C or D, or SVA basic, module 4, depending on your previous knowledge You will then be studying in a consistent distance education programme all the way to upper secondary course SVA 3 After completing a course, you will proceed directly to the next course You will be part of the same study group from start to finish. The study groups will not expand once a course has started.

 

The study pace is 50% You will complete the programme via our learning platform Microsoft Office 365 and Teams Every week you are expected to attend: online small group coaching session with your teacher group work session with fellow classmates that you schedual together. Technical requirements To be able to participate, you need access to a computer, internet connection and a working camera and microphone. Education programme structure If you start at the SFICT level and study up to the upper secondary school’s final course, Swedish as a second language 3 (SVA 3), the programme takes approximately 1.5 years. In SFI and basic courses, you will choose between one teaching session during the day or one teaching session in the evening. SFI courses SFI CT (beginner level) 50% SFI C 50% SFI D 50% Basic courses Swedish as a second language basic, module 4 200 credits, 55% Upper secondary level courses Swedish as a second language 1, 2 and 3 100 credits, 55%

 

2. Intensive studies in Swedish – classroom

Committed, competent teacher-led lessons in a stimulating multicultural study environment in our school on Södermalm. Our Intensive study programmes in Swedish are designed for those who have a longer educational background and meet the prerequisites for a fast-paced learning environment in a language programme. You will start the programme with the course that corresponds to your previous knowledge of Swedish. In addition to scheduled lessons, you are expected to commit to self-study, such as reading and course assignments completed over our learning platform Teams. In addition to scheduled lesson time, the course may involve participation in various support sessions as needed. Brief description of the education programme The classroom-based Intensive studies in Swedish programme is intended for those who want to learn Swedish at an accelerated pace You will complete the programme as a member of a cohesive group, starting with SFICT/C or D, or SVA basic, module 4 After completing a course, you will proceed directly to the next course We provide a coherent education programme with a cohesive study group. Lessons consists of classroom teaching interactive exercises individual teacher guidance.

Sfx – Swedish for professionals

Sfx is a collaboration between the municipalities in Stockholm County. The aim of the programme is to better utilise the professional skills of new arrivals. About Sfx The courses offer a tailor-made path to help you navigate through the system and gain the experience and knowledge you need to start working in your profession in Sweden as quickly as possible. The course content is: intensive Swedish with a professional focus Introduction courses providing the general knowledge you need to understand how each profession works in Sweden opportunity to participate in mentoring programs and student teacher internships:
