20 Feb Cost of Living in Sweden
One of the most frequent questions about life in Sweden, particularly in Stockholm, revolves around the cost of living. Living expenses in Stockholm can vary. According to Migrationsverket, (the Swedish Migration Agency) the standard maintenance amount for a single adult is set at 5,717 SEK. This budget is meant to cover essential expenses such as food, clothing, personal hygiene products, telephone costs, household electricity, insurance, and other minor expenses.
However, from my perspective, this maintenance requirement might be a bit underestimated, especially when considering the costs of food and electricity, which can be significant. Also, it’s important to factor in expenses for entertainment and leisure, which are part of a well-rounded lifestyle. So, while the figure of 5,717 SEK provides a basic idea, expect the actual cost of living in Sweden to be somewhat higher.
